Across the Great Lakes, every passage carries its own stories. The vessels, crews, weather and water come together in moments that are never quite the same twice.
My work follows those moments from working rivers and busy ports to vessels underway on the open lake, creating imagery that feels as powerful, expansive and alive as the lakes themselves.

ANDREW
DEAN RUSSELL
Hello, I'm Andrew Russell. Photography and cinematography have long been passions of mine, and for the past 10 years I have used drones to capture the world from above—six of those years professionally.
My photography has appeared in books, magazines, newspapers and other print and digital publications. My footage has also been licensed and featured by a variety of news outlets, documentary productions and PBS programming, bringing distinctive stories and perspectives to audiences well beyond the original project.
Over the years, I have built lasting relationships with clients across a wide range of industries and creative projects, while also working closely with companies and professionals throughout the Great Lakes maritime community.
From commercial campaigns and documentary productions to vessel operations and one-of-a-kind assignments, I take the time to understand each client's goals and deliver imagery that serves a clear purpose. Every project receives the same careful planning, professional operation and attention to the story behind the final image.
